How to keep the doll in perfect condition?
Having bought a new doll, we want to keep it safe and sound as long as possible. It does not matter if we bought it for ourselves – into the collection, or for a child who will often play with her (and, most likely, not very carefully). I already wrote about how you can restore an old doll, giving her a new life in a new look.
Now we will try as long as possible to preserve the original appearance of a new doll. Many collectors keep their expensive exclusive dolls under glass caps, but, unfortunately, this method of storage is not available to everyone.
What harms the puppet creature, from what it spoils? The main enemy of the dolls is sunlight! If you want to spoil the doll, leave it in the sun, and you will see how her body will become much lighter than the head, and this, of course, will not decorate it at all. This is due to the fact that the head and body of the doll are most often made of different materials, and the body burns out faster in the sun.
Dangerous temperature fluctuations and high humidity are also dangerous for dolls. These adverse factors destroy not only the material from which the doll is made, but also the paint on her face. If you have pets, place the dolls out of the reach of them. First, pets can hurt them by choosing to play with them. Secondly, the hair of domestic animals, trapped in puppet hair, contributes to their tangling. And combing dolls too often is not very useful. When children grow up, they are no longer interested in dolls, and we remove them somewhere far away.
This is where the dolls face the biggest danger. Few people know how to properly store gentle doll creatures. If the doll needs to be removed for storage, in no case should it be packed in a plastic bag! Not only will the rubber and plastic of which the doll is made spoil, even the hair will decay. Plastic bags packed tightly – these killer dolls! You should not keep the doll in its own box, especially if it is brightly painted.
Under the prolonged influence of time, the colorful pattern on the box can be imprinted on the body of the doll. Before long storage, remove all jewelry from the doll, otherwise they will leave marks on her body that are very difficult to remove. Doll clothes are also best removed and stored separately. If you pack your dolls in cotton bags, they will be very well preserved and your grandchildren will probably enjoy playing with them.
Well, if you don’t intend to remove the dolls anywhere, then it’s best to keep them in a glass cabinet so that they are as well protected from dust and other environmental influences as possible. Try to take your dolls only with clean, dry hands. Sometimes it is almost impossible to eliminate a small speck of lipstick or chocolate on a doll’s face.
This is because puppet heads are often made of more porous rubber than the body. Such rubber as a sponge absorbs any dirt. Hair dolls necessarily fall, if you do not collect them in her hair. The easiest way to braid long-haired dolls braids, so their hair for a long time retain their brilliance and beauty.
If you are going to experiment with doll hairstyle, please do not use hair styling products. Waxes, oils and alcohol, which are their part, will slowly but surely destroy the rubber from which the doll’s head is made. Please handle your dolls with care. Do not think that dolls are just beautiful statues. Dolls are very gentle creatures that need your care and care!
