Tales junk: who needs old things? Doll

What a variety of different toys in today’s stores! Just run away eyes. Sometimes I see how young dads or mothers choose toys – not at all according to the age of the baby, obviously I myself want to play. Photo: Depositphotos Soviet children had few toys. The main life proceeded on the street. Here they played with the ball, in Cossacks-robbers, in the “deaf” phone.

Kids fumbled in the sandbox or on the hill. In bad weather, they played board games at home. The dolls were simple. My first baby doll is a celluloid little naked baby doll. You could bathe him, feed him, make clothes for him from rags. Almost all the guys in the yard had younger brothers and sisters. Playing with them replaced the game of dolls. Mom told me that when , she had to go to work two months after giving birth. And then – or give the child in the nursery, or hire a nanny. Later, when my younger sister was born, this period was somewhat longer.

Therefore, swaddle, feed, soothe a crying child, walk with him, decorate our generation did not learn from dolls. It was part of the family responsibilities of older children. The younger sister already has a real doll. With hair that could be braided or gathered into a beautiful hairstyle. For such dolls, homemade dresses were sewn on a children’s sewing machine. They had beautiful shoes. They could make tiny beads. Knit a beautiful scarf. They had baby dishes and a cot. It is such a doll that I have preserved from the late 70s. She has long been lying in the closet to anyone unnecessary.

The next generation was only boys, but they were not interested in dolls. In a television program, I heard that quite a few people collect dolls. True, there was talk about copyright works. Yet the transfer prompted me to try to evaluate this doll. At first I took one photo, put it on the forum of collectors in the appropriate branch. For a long time no one responded. Finally one amateur responded. He said that the doll was made from mass production not so long ago, and its condition is not very good, it does not look new. Therefore, it can hardly be sold. When selling various old things, I realized that I could never rely on the opinion of one person. Therefore, I put the doll on various forums, free classified ads. The result was zero.

This doll was not interesting to anyone. Finally, one bell rang, and by the city telephone. So, someone saw my old ad (later I began to indicate only a cell phone). A deaf female voice offered me 100 rubles. Why I refused, I do not understand. At this time I began to master the trade at auction. The most popular platform at the time – online auction Hammer. Every day more than 22 million buyers searched there. The interface was clear. Certain time was spent on verification. The hammer sent a letter with a code by mail to a home address. The doll was one of the first products that I put on the hammer.

The term set 10 days and safely forgot about it. Only the constant habit of checking mailboxes saved this transaction. It turned out that a real struggle had flared up for my doll. Three people surrendered, the woman from Novosibirsk won the auction. I was so happy with luck that I immediately paid a commission and ran to the post office to send the goods. It was a successful experience with collectors.
