Jen was born in New Zealand in the middle of the last century in a very creative family. Her grandmother was a sculptor, and her mother was an artist – she painted portraits. Jen’s first toys were dolls made by her grandmother. The faces of these pupae were made of papier-mâché and very much resembled the faces of expensive collection dolls from the 40s of the twentieth century. Continue reading
We begin our journey, perhaps, with the most famous Moscow Puppet Museum. The Museum “Doll’s House” is located in the very center of Moscow, not far from the Kitay-Gorod metro station.
The “Doll House” was opened on April 30, 1995, and for more than thirteen years it has been pleasing us with the opportunity to admire unique and stunningly beautiful dolls. Continue reading
In our age, dolls are, most often, children’s toys. But it was not always so. In ancient times, the Slavs took them quite seriously.
